"Navajo Churro Ram"
Step back in history with the Navajo Churro sheep, the oldest breed of sheep in the United States. They came in with the Spaniards before the Pilgrims!
We have rams and ewes for sale as well as fleeces. The fleece contains three distinctive fibers: (1) an outer coat up to 10 inches long with a spinning count in the 30s, (2) a shorter inner coat which may spin as fine as 64, and (3) kemp, which must not be more than 2 percent of the entire fleece. An excellent fleece for rug yarns and as decorative accents in woven pieces.
Our outstanding fleeces have won Grand Champion and Reserve Champion at the Estes Park Wool Market.
If you have questions about our sheep or fleece, please call Ben or Nancy Priest.
